#1 The Motherhood
Have you noticed how a lot of Disney characters don't have a mother? Think about it: there's Bambi, Snow White, Belle, Pinocchio, Cinderella, and 22 other Disney heroes. They're all motherless for some reason. This is because Walt Disney was feeling guilty for his mother's death. Back in 1938, Walt's mother died because of carbon monoxide poisoning caused by a faulty heating system installed in the house Walt bought her. You can definitely say there's a big piece of Walt Disney in every one of his movies, especially in those where heroes have no mother.
#2 The Beast
Lately, Beauty and the Beast has experienced a whole new amount of fame. Since the movie came out at the beginning of this year, Belle and Beast are once again one of Disney's most popular couples. Beast is Prince Adam, we all know that, right? But the Prince got his unique look combining several wild animals. For example, he has a body of a bear, wolf's legs and tail, lion's mane, buffalo's beard and head and human's eyes.
#3 Snow White's Makeup
Snow's beauty was the main reason why the Evil Queen wanted her gone. No wonder; her face was adorable! Did you know that the creators actually used real makeup while making Snow White? Yes, real makeup was used on animated cells. That's why Snow has that fresh, delicate look. If you compare her to the other Disney princesses you'll see that Snow White is one of the most realistic looking princesses of them all.
#4 The Close Relatives?
There are a lot of theories online on how some Disney heroes are related. Some people think Elsa and Anna's parents were also Tarzan's parents. Who knows? But, there's a clean blood line between two beloved main characters: Ariel and Hercules. Ariel's father is King Triton, who is the son of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. Poseidon's brother is Zeus, the father of Hercules. Put two and two together and you'll see how Ariel and Hercules are related.
#5 The Lost Sidekick
Remember Meeko from Pocahontas, the adorable raccoon BFF? Well, Meeko was almost replaced with another animal. The creators of Pocahontas had an original idea to give Pocahontas a talking turkey named Redfeather. But, eventually, the idea failed because they wanted the animals in this Disney movie to be mute. Oh, what would we do without Meeko? He's the greatest!
#6 Fun Fact!
Pumba is the first character to fart in a Disney movie. I'm pretty sure this trivia made you giggle. Go on, search for that scene on Google. What else could you expect from a warthog!
